Author's Notes: I was sitting in history class trying to keep my sanity by quoting as much of X-men as I could, when this little idea hit. And hit hard. Just ask the poor guy next to me. I nearly freaked him out when I grabbed my notecards out of my purse and started writing frantically.

make him suffer as we suffered.)
oh yes, you will feel such pain,
but the wounds will appear on her
skin.

so brave, how you hide the agony.
so silent, as i twist your very bones.
(tell me brother, do you hear her crying
for you?
you who fear nothing more than helplessness.)
oh yes, your rage is impotent.
i will pry her from your broken
hands.

my children did not say you loved her.
i do not even think you know yourself.
(what do you want with me
you said.
then the horror began to burn your eyes)
oh yes, now you know the truth.
i have not come to claim your
soul.

so poetic, how your arms stretch like her messiah.
so pathetic, how you curse me as her judas priest.
(tell me, savior, would you really die for our brothers?
she will.
i will cast her down into the eternal night.)
oh yes, you'd tear hell apart to keep her safe,
but now you are only steel and now you will
break.

my children will take good care of her.
after all, now she is one
of them.
